1. Fixing a Hard Drive by freezing it!
It sounds like a solution that will work, theoretically! A Hard Drive has multiple small components fixed very precisely. Unfortunately, it stays a myth because freezing will cause inaccessible shrink of parts. So, freezing the hard drive will not help!
2. Using a file structure repairing software.
You might find much DIY data recovery software that may assure you to fix the structure of your drive and recover the data. But most of these programs can cause overwriting the data on your main hard drive which can again cause data recovery impossible. If you are trying such programs then avoid using it on the main failed hard drive or check if there is an option to undo the changes you make.
3. Open the Hard drive to free the stuck parts.
Most of the people know that hard drive is made of spinning and moving parts and it can fail because of the same spinning parts when it gets stuck. A failed hard drive may cause sounds such as clicking and ticking noise. In cases like this opening, a drive will not help but cause more harm. As the parts inside are so precisely fixed and fragile that it cannot be opened in a normal environment. It requires a very clean environment (Clean Room). Even a tiny amount of dust particles will damage the hard drive platters and cause difficult to read the data. If you try to lift the platter from its place then it may change the actual manufactured position of it and may result in unrecoverable data.
