Misunderstanding about Solid State Drives.
Presently in the market, there are many types of the storage device like solid state drive (SSD), hard disk drive (HDD), etc. But most people are more familiar with hard disk drive. Because an SSD is a drive which is made up of electronics, without any moving parts and also SSD is using flash memory chip, which is more compressed, therefore SSD is much lighter in weight. Even though solid state drive has so many advantages, many people still prefer traditional HDD because there are many misunderstanding about the solid state drive.
SSD is not secure
Solid State drive comes with a specific encryption technology, which exists as a chip. So, it can auto decrypt and encrypt the stored data. Therefore those who think that Solid state drive is not secure then it’s wrong. It is far more secure than the other kind of storage devices.
SSD Fails Rarely
Do you know? A number of traditional hard drive usually fail due to mechanical issues Such as head crashes. And when a hard drive fails data in it will suffer too. And as we all know SSD has no moving parts, many people think that SSD will not wear out, so it fails very rarely. No this is wrong because other mechanisms in SSD are same vulnerable as the hard drive. Therefore Solid state drive still can fail at any time, so always backup your data for your safety.
Solid State Drive has a Limited Storage Capacity
Due to the extraordinary technology behind SSD, in the earlier time, makers will limit the storage capacity of the SSD in order to reduce the price of SSD to make it more cost-effective. Currently, with the advancement of the technology, making solid state drive with more data storage capacity at affordable prices.
Solid State Drive is very much Costly
It is true, that the Solid State drive is pretty costlier than the Hard disk drive, but it is due to its advanced technology and better performance. But truly, if the user needs the capacity of Solid state drive 32 GB to 320 GB than it is affordable. Moreover with the continuous development of technology, nowadays SSD is becoming more affordable.
Data can be Recovered from the Solid State Drive
Most users think that it is entirely impossible to recover data from the solid state drive. But nowadays solid state drive comes with TRIM feature enabled. But in fact, there are many loopholes of TRIM features. For an example, it does not support an operating system. So, as compared to hard disk drive, it is more difficult and complex to recover data from the solid state drive, instead of impossible.
Solid State Drive is Reliable
When choosing a data storage device, reliability is the important reason because we store data in it. It is wrong, that SSD isn’t reliable. Honesty, as compared to hard disk drive SSD is more reliable. Because it doesn’t have moving parts. Therefore it is immune from mechanical issues. That means it can be fewer chances to lose data.
