Common Issues of MacBook Pro while we Shut down
It is very easy to shut down the MacBook Pro, But the problem comes when you try to shut down but your MacBook Pro is not responding to shut down. Normally, to shut down MacBook Pro go to the apple logo on the top left screen and click shut down. Then you will show the alert box in which message is returned that device will shut down in one minute. If you want to skip you can and shut down directly. If your device is not shut down after clicking on shut down, then your MacBook Pro has some application open, so you need to close all the application which you have started. Once all the apps close, then Mac will shut down. If your MacBook is taking more time, then leave your MacBook Pro for some time. Because sometimes in Mac OS shutting down process can be longer than a minute, this is because if you have a lot of file, document, apps which is open. Or if you see any application in the dock which is giving an alert, open and close it properly because sometimes some of the application freeze by which MacBook Pro has an issue to shut down.
What to do if your MacBook Pro Freeze while you click on Shut down
Sometimes, when you try to shut down, the device is freeze completely. You can try to move the cursor, if the cursor is not moving that means your device is frozen. In this type of situation, press the power button for 3 to 4 seconds then you will see the pop-up box in which you will see three options sleep, restart and shutdown. If in any case, the pop-up box is not coming, then press the power button and the control key at the same time. This will force your MacBook Pro to restart.
If your mac still not responding then press down the power button until you see the black screen and when the black screen comes you will hear a clicking sound. And then leave for 2,3 minutes and then start again if you want to use.
Note: This is not the proper way to shut down your Mac every time.
What to do if this Problem Occurs every Time While Shutting down the MacBook Pro
We can’t say why this problem occurs every time because there are a variety of problems by which this is happening. But don’t worry we have some troubleshooting steps, you can try all the steps one by one and check, whether the problem is solved or not.
- If there is an application which gives the alert message and freezes the MacBook pro every time when you shut down, try to update that application or reinstall it.
- Go to the App store and update all the application which is pending to be updated. And also if you have any software which you have installed from outside try to update.
- Go to system preference, then click on security & privacy, then click file vault. If the file vault option is on then turned it off.
- Try to repair the disk. Open the Disk Utility and select the main drive and click verify disk, if the disk has a problem then repair the disk.
Reset the SMC (System Management Controller)
To reset the SMC shut down the Mac after that plug your MacBook Pro with a MagSafe adapter. Then at the same time press down the control, shift, option key and with this three keys press down the power button and the SMC is complete. Then start your MacBook pro and check the problem whether it is solved or not.
Or after performing all the steps if your problem is not solved, the last option is to Back up your complete device and format the Mac and reinstall it.
